A MODERN WATERFRONT - Interior Design Sovereign Islands
Designed in collaboration with Enclave Constructions, this new build on Sovereign Islands began with a blank slate, just architectural drawings and a client looking to soften the sharp edges of modern design. Elizabeth May Design was engaged to select all finishes, including the exterior façade, and to create an interior that felt contemporary yet warm, blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.
Natural Finishes, Grounded Design
Timber played a central role in offsetting the coolness of stone and tile, helping to bring a warm, earthy balance throughout the home. Venetian render added movement and subtle tactility to the vertical lift shaft, echoing the organic softness the client envisioned.
From Drawings to Detail
With only architectural plans to begin, we helped shape the visual language of the home, selecting every surface, tone, and texture, both inside and out, to ensure a calm, cohesive result that honoured both the modern structure and the natural surrounds.
Custom-Made for Impact
Two expansive voids called for bold feature lighting, but nothing off the shelf would do. We designed and sourced custom fixtures that brought visual drama and sculptural interest, anchoring these open spaces with warmth and intention.
