The Sovereign Islands home was a new build working alongside Enclave Constructions situated on the water in an exclusive residential precinct. Initially, the client came only with a simple set of architectural black and white drawings and needed all the finishes selected including the external facade. Our first stage was to establish the mood and aesthetic. As the architecture was very modern the client wanted to ensure it didn’t feel cold and austere.
They really wanted the finishes to blend in with the natural environment. Using timber throughout was essential to bring a sense of warmth and offset all of the hard tiled surfaces. Venetian render was used on the lift shaft exterior walls to add movement & texture, and we had two huge voids that needed feature lighting that was custom-made as we could not find anything off the shelf that was suitable.
