Step into this relaxed and earthy Californian Bungalow, where the unused basement has been transformed into a stylish downstairs games/living space complete with an extra bedroom, a laundry and a bathroom. It was a labor of love as Sarah and Chris poured their hearts into the project while balancing their full-time jobs. The project is a blend of new and existing elements, with the brickwork, timber, and polished concrete working seamlessly together. The palette is earthy, with splashes of colour from accessories & Sarah & Chris’s art collection. The basement level flooring is polished concrete, while the ground floor has been extended to sympathetically match the existing pine timber flooring with a lime wash finish.
The long reeded glass window over the stairs allows plenty of light while maintaining privacy. The ground floor has been extended to create a new dining, living area and an alfresco bbq area perfect for entertaining. The renovated kitchen has become the heart of the home with a beautiful long island bench as the centrepiece. The finishes are warm & earthy, with Caesar Stone bench tops, Birch Plywood cabinetry, and IN-TERIA handles. The tile splash back from Academy Tiles add a beautiful layer of texture. Working with Sarah & Chris on their home has been an absolute joy. Their trust in me and dedication to this project has resulted in a beautifully crafted space that is both comfortable and stylish.

I can't recommend Liz enough. We've worked together on two houses across interior architectural design, lighting, spatial design and the full gamut of furnishings. Her patience, decisiveness, and clever eye for colour and texture (and quirks that make the difference), has made working with her the best part of those builds. She has brought immeasurable value to both those projects and she'd be the first person I'd call if I was mad enough to do it all again!

Elizabeth is exactly what I was looking for in an interior designer! I had ideas of what I wanted, just didn't know where to start. The professional brief from her at the start was exactly what I was after - something other designers didn't even do! Her ability to pull everything together and present options helped us immensely; she does all the hard work for you! I would definitely recommend Elizabeth!

I contacted Elizabeth May to advise me on choices to redecorate and modernise our Gold Coast apartment. I could not be happier. She is a delight to work with, reliable, calm and contactable, and has magnificent taste. I am so happy with the result. I found that we could get a great result with a moderate budget.

Elizabeth was an absolute pleasure to work with. Creative, attentive to the brief, and professional from start to finish. She has an eye for detail, is adaptive and never short of ideas to address the difficult or challenging aspects of the design. Could not have achieved the overall look and feel of my home without her involvement.

Elizabeth May is such a talented interior designer, I had the pleasure of working with her on our recent house in Tallebudgera. Her eye for detail and texture does not go un noticed in our interiors and soft furnishings. Lizzy is such a delightful lady and always responds promptly! I love all of our furniture choices and could not be happier with how our house has turned out.

"Liz was amazing from start to finish. I find home decorating quite overwhelming, but she presented me with enough ideas to get my creative juices flowing. She stuck to the brief but added her own personal flair to them which really brought the house to life, and worked seamlessly with my builder which was such a relief!"

"Elizabeth worked with me to fit out our hair and beauty salon in Byron Bay. She nailed our relaxed beach vibe with natural materials, clean lines and amazing prints. Elizabeth was involved in every aspect of design, from sourcing items, coming up with innovative solutions to various challenges, designing custom pieces and selecting soft furnishings. From the initial consultation through to completion, her advice was invaluable. We love the end result!"
